Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026 · Applies to the Retro Offroad app for iOS and Android and this website.

We collect as little as we can. You can play the whole career offline without giving us anything. When you use the online features (rankings, friends and race teams), the game uses an anonymous guest account and stores only what those features need. You don't give us your email, phone number, real name or location, and there are no ads or third-party trackers in the game.

This policy explains what we store, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and how to delete it. "We", "us" and "our" mean Veilbreak Games, LLC, 2810 N Church St STE 90776, Wilmington, DE 19802, the developer of Retro Offroad and the controller of the personal data described here.

1. Summary

2. What we collect and why

2.1 On your device only (not sent to us)

Your career save and settings: money, trucks and upgrades, class progress, races and wins, time-trial records and ghost replays, music/sound/steering settings, and small bits of state for the online features (your Terms acceptance, players you blocked, results waiting to be uploaded, the last app configuration we sent). This data stays in the app's storage on your device. We can't see it. It is removed when you uninstall the game, although your device's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup, depending on your settings) may include it.

2.2 Online features (stored in our database)

When you use rankings, friends or teams, the game signs in with an anonymous guest account (Firebase Authentication). It has no email, phone number or password; it is identified only by a random account ID. Your 8-character Driver ID (also your friend code) comes from that ID. We store:

Rate-limit stampsThe time of your last friend request and last reportPreventing spam

We don't ask for or collect your real name, email address, phone number, phone contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera access, payment details, or advertising identifiers.

2.3 Technical data

Like any online service, our providers process technical data needed to deliver it, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and request timestamps, including for security and abuse prevention. We don't use this data to build a profile of you. The app also downloads a small configuration file (for example, whether an update is required); that request contains no personal data beyond what any internet connection reveals.

2.4 Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)

3. Who can see your data

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for targeted advertising.

4. Service providers and international transfers

We use Google Firebase (Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited) for Firebase Authentication (guest accounts), Cloud Firestore (the online database) and Firebase Hosting (this website). Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms. Our database is located in the United States (nam5). If your data is transferred outside your country, including outside the EEA or UK, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as provided in Google's terms. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.

The app stores are run by Apple and Google, whose own privacy policies cover downloads, purchases and store accounts.

5. How long we keep data

6. Deleting your account and data

In the game, open Profile → DELETE ACCOUNT → DELETE PERMANENTLY. This immediately deletes your guest account, profile, friends (on both sides), friend requests you sent or received, team membership, block list and leaderboard times. If you own a team with other members, it passes to your top contributor. If you are its only member, the team is disbanded. Your career on the device is kept unless you also choose to erase it.

You can also ask us to delete your account without the app, on our account deletion page. We complete web requests within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California privacy law), you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can change your display name at any time on the Profile screen, and delete your account as described above. For anything else, email team@veilbreakgames.com with your Driver ID. Guest accounts aren't linked to an email or phone number, so we use the Driver ID to find your data and may ask you to confirm the request from inside the app. We answer within one month.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

8. Children

Retro Offroad is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can consent to data processing in your country, please get a parent's or guardian's permission before using the online features. If you believe a child under 13 has used the online features, contact us and we will delete that account.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by Google. Database security rules check every online change: players can only change their own data, in the ways the game allows. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities about a breach where the law requires it.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the game or this policy changes, for example if we add sign-in with Apple or Google, cloud saves, analytics or crash reporting. We'll change the effective date above, and if a change is significant we will ask you to review it in the game before you next use the online features.
